The two triply essential fatty acids reduced carbohydrate cravings

The Peskin Hypothesis predicts that taking a daily dietary supplement of 2,900 milligrams of a pristine, vibrant linoleic acid (LA)/ pristine, vibrant alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) mix with an LA/ALA ~2:1 ratio should reduce carbohydrate cravings, protecting against the risk of becoming obese …
In 2005 Dr. Stephen Cavallino persuaded ten of his ‘carbohydrate addict’, overweight patients (eight females, two males) to:

  • put themselves onto a higher protein-lower carbohydrate diet for eight-weeks
  • add a ‘triply essential’ omega-6:omega-3 ~2:1 ratio daily dietary supplement for the second four-weeks of the trial (2,900 milligrams daily, similar to that sold by Your Essential Supplements (YES) Ultimate EFAs

  • assess themselves before starting the higher protein-lower carbohydrate diet, then keep a daily log of their experience, particularly with regard to: appetite; carbohydrate craving; weight reduction; general energy; and general alertness

Analysis of their logs justified the following conclusions:

  • Adopting a higher protein-lower carbohydrate diet did not appear to reduce the patients’ carbohydrate cravings
  • Adopting a higher protein-lower carbohydrate diet only reduced the sensation of constant hunger in eight of the ten patients

When the ‘triply essential’ omega-6:omega-3 ~2:1 ratio daily dietary supplement was added to the higher protein-lower carbohydrate diet:

  • All ten patients felt well and more at ease when eating the higher protein-lower carbohydrate diet
  • All ten patients reported reduced appetite: five of the patients considered this a ‘good to excellent’ result; five of the patients considered this ‘excellent’
  • All ten patients reported reduced carbohydrate cravings: nine patients considered this an ‘excellent’; one patient considered this ‘good to excellent’
  • All ten patients reported increased energy and alertness, which all ten considered ‘excellent’
  • All ten patients lost weight during the eight-week trial

SAS 9.1 software concluded that adding the ‘triply essential’ omega-6:omega-3 ~2:1 ratio ~2:1 daily dietary supplement had increased the effectiveness of the higher protein-lower carbohydrate diet by just over a quarter (27.5%).
Stephen Cavallino (Regio Emilia, Italy) later commented, “(Brian Peskin’s hypothesis) could prove to be one of the most significant health discoveries of the 21st Century. It is extraordinary – finally, an effective and practical program of cancer prevention. (He) has put together a program that must be called ‘brilliant’. It is a must … for all.”
